Shewsheep’s Exclusive ‘Donut Bumper’ Series: A Sprinkle of Pure Joy at ‘Mak Muan’ @Laluna Gallery(Chiang Mai)
As part of our look back at the last two years of Shewsheep’s incredible journey, one standout project that perfectly captures their playful spirit is the exclusive series created for the ‘Mak Muan’ group exhibition in Chiang Mai.
The exhibition title, ‘Mak Muan’ (มักม่วน), is a beautiful Northern Thai phrase that translates to “loving fun.” For this special group show featuring numerous talented artists, Shewsheep created a series of three exclusive, hand-painted canvases designed to bring that joyful energy to life.

Shewsheep decided to ask: “What if that fun wasn’t just exciting, but delicious, too?”
The core idea for this project was to capture the quintessential fun of a childhood festival memory: playing bumper cars (รถบัมพ์). We all know that iconic feeling of laughter, friendly collisions, and chaotic, colorful motion.

This led to the creation of the whimsical “Donut Bumper” cars. In this series, the traditional bumper car is replaced by a massive, freshly-baked donut. Instead of a spark when they collide, imagine a magnificent sprinkle explosion!
Each collision would send a cascade of colorful sprinkles flying across the arena, coating the experience in sweetness. The concept aims to combine the physical thrills of the bumper car with the sensory delight of dessert, suggesting an arena of pure happiness and delicious, chaotic fun.
